Most students will only need to use VPN when accessing Library Resources, using MyApps Virtual Desktop, and remoting in to Yale computer labs.

Please note that VPN should only be used when accessing Yale applications that require it VPN is not required or recommended to access Canvas, Zoom, or email. When you are finished accessing resources via VPN, simply quit the Cisco An圜onnect application to end your session.

Installing VPNįollow these instructions to download VPN on your device: If you are away from campus, you can obtain access to these resources by connecting to Yale’s Virtual Private Network, or VPN. If you need help setting up An圜onnect VPN, please contact the ITS Customer Support Center.Some of Yale’s digital resources are only available while connected to YaleSecure wifi on campus. Please be aware that you DO NOT need to use An圜onnect VPN when accessing Blackboard, Zoom, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft Office 365 or Google Apps at USC. Additionally, you must use An圜onnect VPN to access internal USC systems handling confidential or sensitive data, such as Student Information Systems (SIS), and file servers for specific schools and departments. Use An圜onnect VPN if you are away from the USC campus and are unable to connect to services. USC offers Virtual Private Networking (VPN) to provide secure remote access to these services when you are off-campus. Some USC online services require access through on-campus USC Secure Wireless or a wired network connection.
